The farm Pilari<\/span><\/h4>\n

Hello, I introduce myself: my name is Vanni and together with my wife Diletta and my mother Maria I run this farm. The farm \u201cPilari\u201d is located in the Val di Pierle, a small valley next to lake Trasimeno it has a total area of 48 hectares, mostly forest, a part of arable land and a vineyard of 2 hectares.<\/span><\/p>\n

Until the early nineties my grandfather took a part of arable land for the production of tobacco since this area was very well suited to this type of cultivation and history on its production is lost in the mists of time.<\/span><\/p>\n

The vineyard is a very important part of our farm because it was created by our will and desire to produce our wine.<\/span><\/p>\n

The main house (called Pilari), located in the complex of houses in the heart of the farm (where we live), stands on an ancient watch tower of Pierle castle and it is present in old maps dating back to 1200. It shall be authentic the chiseled cellars mostly in the rock.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Vineyeard<\/span><\/h4>\n

The vineyard is a very important part of our farm, born from a dream of mine and our passion for good wine.<\/span>
\nThe main grape is Teroldego, typical of northern Italy, chosen for its color, unique scent and also for its early maturation, This feature is important because it allows us to harvest by the end of September, when the weather is still pleasant and grapes retains all the benefits of the summer sun. A small part of the vineyard is dedicated to Sangiovese, typical and famous grape variety of the\u00a0Tuscan countryside.<\/span>
\nDuring the winter I take care of the pruning and tillage. From spring and all summer, with the help of my wife Diletta, we take care to tie the branches\u00a0and cut them when they are too long (topping).<\/span>
\nIf the season is particularly generous to improve the highest quality of grapes, the worst or too small grapes are removed,\u00a0so all the substances\u00a0are concentrated in the best grapes raising the quality level of the wine which will be.<\/span>
\nIn the month of September \/ October\u00a0we collect grapes.<\/span>
\nOften we accompany our guests to visit our vineyard to show the work we do but also to admire the landscape.\u00a0All our guests can taste our wine that we produce with passion.<\/span><\/p>\n
